November-Crowne Plaza Moscow WTC is the first hotel in Russia to launch a voice Concierge service in the rooms.

January - An exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Sotheby's legendary auction that took place at the WTC in 1988 was held at the Garage Cultural Center. The interactive part of the exhibition was recreated through modern interiors of the WTC Congress Center.

February - The «4-star» category was assigned to the «Mezhdunarodnaya» apart-hotel.

The lobby of the Crowne Plaza Moscow WTC Hotel is recognized as one of the most popular places for business meetings in Moscow and St. Petersburg (rating compiled by Inc., the well-known international business magazine)

June - The opening of a completely renovated hotel under the Holiday Inn Express Moscow Khovrino brand on the site of the ex «Soyuz» hotel. At the end of the year, it was recognized as the "Discovery of the Year" (the 2GIS Prize).

June-July - The World Trade Center hosts fans and teams participating in the FIFA World Cup 2018. As a result, the work of the WTC is marked by a number of appreciations from the Championship Organizing Committee.

WTC hosts a series of economic events with the participation of the heads of foreign countries: Miloš Zeman, the President of the Czech Republic, Kalinda Grabar-Katarovich, the President of Croatia, and others.

July - WTC receives football teams participating in VIII Confederations Cup.

December - The World Trade Center holds seminars for football teams as part of the final draw of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Completion of renovation of the main building of the hotel Crowne Plaza Moscow WTC. As a result, the hotel received a number of awards, including the «Golden Sac de Voyage» Award, as the «Renovation of the Year».

May - WTC receives guests and participants, stars of the 2016 World Hockey Championship that was held in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

November - The Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relation (IMEMO), the World Trade Center and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation conduct the scientific-expert forum "Primakov Readings" with the involvement of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the President of the Russian Federation.

WTC renovated sports and recreation areas and opened a new line of activity - its own fitness clubs WTC Fitness and WTC Fitness Lite.

December - For the 5th time the World Trade Center becomes a venue for the annual big press conference of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the President of Russian Federation.

September- A permanent exhibition dedicated to the 35-year history of the complex was opened within the walls of the World Trade Center. The exposition consists of reportage pictures of the brightest events, portraits of influential guests, also a map of the world, indicating our partners from the World Trade Centers Association.

October-The permanent exposition "Professional, creative, humanitarian heritage" was opened in WTC. It dedicated to the memory of academic and diplomat Evgeniy Maximovich Primakov.

The first Readings in memory of E.M. Primakov were held in WTC. Later it was transformed into scientific and expert forum "Primakov Readings".

The wedding project of the World Trade Center receives a number of awards: the "Wedding Awards" as the best city wedding venue, the national "Golden Puzzle" for organizing the largest wedding, the "Global Event Awards", professional award in the "Best Wedding of the Year" nomination.

A large-scale renovation of the WTC assets has begun.

The WTC held a number of large-scale events dedicated to economic integration and import substitution.

April - An updated license agreement was signed between the WTC and WTCA.

May - The first summer terrace appears in WTC.

A new service line has been created at the WTC - the organization of events on a turnkey basis and the Wedding Project.

By the Presidential decree the WTC has been appointed a general contractor for events within the framework of the term of Russian chairmanship in G8.

December – the World Trade Center joins the Anti-Corruption Charter of Russian Business..

By the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation №485 dated May 16, 2012, the WTC OJSC was awarded the Award 2011 "For achieving significant results in the field of product and service quality and introducing highly efficient quality management methods".

July - The International Business Center "Russia in the WTO" was created at the World Trade Center.

September - The Association of World Trade Centers hold the 43rd annual General Assembly at the WTC. The event is dedicated to Russia's accession to the WTO. The members of the crew of the International Space Station (ISS-33) addressed the guests of the General Assembly from space.

December- For the first time, the World Trade Center received the annual big press conference of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the President of Russia.

January – The opening Office-building-3.

WTC was the laureate of the "International Leaders of Economic Development" Award, the winner in the nomination "Best Enterprise of the Year 2010".

October - 2-1 VTB Capital Investment Forum "Russia is calling!" was held at the WTC. Since then, this event has been held annually at WTC.

The WTC begins to hold the Russian Fashion Week, the main fashion venue in Eastern Europe. The most popular designers such as Vyacheslav Zaitsev, Dasha Gauzer, Lyudmila Nersoyan and many other new famous Russian and foreign designers presented their collections at the WTC. The fashion shows were held at the WTC until 2011.

During the 2008 UEFA Champions League Final, the Manchester United team was staying at the Crowne Plaza WTC Moscow hotel, along with their families and owners.

The merger of the World Trade Center to the largest international hotel chain InterContinental Hotels Group, reconstruction of the "Mezhdunarodnaya" Hotel and the opening under the Crowne Plaza brand.

The World Trade Center held a series of international events within the framework of Russian Chairmanship of the G8.

The 21st meeting of the Interaction Council was held at WTC, which was also called the "Congress of the Wise Men". The Council explores the most important political, economic and social problems, develops proposals that are brought to the heads of governments involving experts. In 2002, Evgeniy Maximovich Primakov was admitted to the Interaction Council.

December – The opening of the Office building-2.

The creation of an elite discussion "Mercury" Club, headed by the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Evgeniy Maximovich Primakov, academic and diplomat.

The regular session of the International Olympic Committee took place at the WTC. Count Jacques Rogge was elected thr President of the Committee, and don Juan Antonio Samaranch, who headed the IOC from the 1980 Olympic Games and revived it, became an Honorary President for Life.

The hotel "Mezhdunarodnaya" OJSC "WTC" was awarded a professional prize for achievements in the sphere of tourism "Lodestar 2001" as the best hotel that keeps up the Russian traditions in service.

Joining the Guild of Exhibition and Trade Fair Organizations of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

May - The company was renamed into Open Joint-Stock Company "World Trade Center" ("WTC" OJSC).

Joining the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Trade Fairs. September- Preparations for the modernization and expansion of the Center, that was implemented later - in 2003.

Sergei Zverev, a famous stylist, opened the salon at the WTC.

September 16 - The company was transformed into a joint-stock company.

Joining the International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC). The first ATMs in the USSR appeared - two devices were installed at WTC Moscow and one at the office of American Express. They issued AmEx traveler checks instead of cash.

The WTC became a favorite place of the national stage and cinema stars. The restaurant "Mercury" were visited by Boris Moiseev, Trio Expression, Laima Vaikule, Alexander Serov, Arkady Ukupnik. Many artists, including Alla Pugacheva and Sergey Minaev, made their music videos and television programs here.

There was a shooting of several seasons of the most popular TV program in USSR "What? Where? When?".

During the visit of USSR by Ronald Reagan, President of the USA, the press-club was organized in the WTC. This visit was the third meeting with Mikhail Gorbachev, the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee.

The World Trade Center held the famous Sotheby's auction. A record amount of $ 3.5 million was collected during the auction.

The World Trade Center hosted the World Conference "Religious leaders for saving the sacred gift of life from a nuclear catastrophe" that was nonsense for an atheist socialist state.

World Trade Centers Association held the 11th General Assembly at the new WTC Moscow. An unprecedented exception was made for representatives of 6 countries that didn't have diplomatic relations with USSR. They were allowed to stay in Moscow.

The official opening of the WTC complex for the 22nd Olympic Games in Moscow.

November 28 - The Council of Ministers of the USSR decree №2612 explained that there was organized the All-Soviet Union cost-accounting association "Sovincenter"

June 15- The USSR Council of Ministers adopted Resolution №410-131 "About the construction of the World Trade and Scientific and Technical ties with foreign countries Center in Moscow".
